Cabinet Approves Import of Van & Busses for Tourism Industry

Great news for the industry! After lobbying efforts by SLAITO with other industry associations, we are delighted to announce that the SLTDA Chairman has informed that the cabinet has approved the importation of vans and buses for the industry.

This approval authorizes the importation of 750 vans, capable of accommodating 6 to 15 passengers each, and 250 buses, with seating capacities ranging from 16 to 45. This initiative is set to tackle essential transportation requirements within the tourism sector, guaranteeing improved accessibility and comfort for travelers as they explore the array of attractions across the island.

SLTDA Chairman has confirmed that the authority will promptly initiate the process by advertising for suppliers as soon as they receive the official written notice, which is expected within the next 2 to 3 days.
