About us
The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) is a Guarantee Company registered with the Registrar of Companies under the Companies Act No.17 of 1982.
The primary objectives of SLAITO, as set out in the Constitution, are as follows:

To promote and foster the rapid and long term growth of tourism by providing and maintaining a high standard of excellence in the services provided for the comfort and convenience of the tourist. |
| 2. |
To establish and maintain good cordial relations with the government, in particular with the Minister in charge of tourism and all other Competent Authorities established by the government for the advancement of tourism in Sri Lanka. |
| 3. |
To take all steps as deemed necessary to protect and further the interests of the members of the Association, who are an indispensable arm of the Tourism Industry. |
| 4. |
To liaise and maintain cordial relations with all members whether corporate, partners or individuals in the Tourism Industry. |
| 5. |
To establish and maintain good cordial relations and affiliate with concerned international travel organizations of repute to espouse, establish and promote international relationships with such organizations for the purpose of achieving the objectives of the Association and thereby securing expert help and advise from such organizations for the advancement of the cause of the Association. |
| 6. |
To submit, pursue and finalize, through the appropriate channels established by the government, legislative or regulatory concessions considered necessary by the Association for the successful promotion and advancement of the Tourism Industry |
The membership of SLAITO consists of the Travel Agents who handle foreign tourists in Sri Lanka on a brochured program, foreign Travel Organizations in the back to back group tour and charter business who are principles of the local members and Charter Airlines who bring back to back group tours to Sri Lanka.
There are 89 members in the Association as at date.
